Stormy sea, leaden skies, divine atmosphere... And the light was on the Pointe des Poulains at Belle Ile en mer. This lighthouse is located in the village of Sauzon, at the north-western end of the island. It rises 37 meters above sea level. The place where it was commissioned in 1868 was rarely visited until 1893, when Sarah Bernhardt bought the Fort des Poulains. The actress spent every summer there until her death in 1923.
